Naughty Dog crafted a modern masterpiece with The Last of Us. It was and remains a post apocalyptic marvel that told a story of love, loss and learn to love what little you’ve in a world that is continuously falling apart around you. Today, a sequel is ready to rip our hearts out all over again.
Joel and Ellie’s emotional story will continue at last of us part 2 with an elderly, and more angry Ellie. Recent trailers showcase a primitive and a beautiful story nuanced with a helping of violence, and now we now have a notion of the sequel’s rough plot format and game-play mechanics. Oh, and Naughty Dog finally spilled the beans on the long awaited release date, too.
The Last of Us 2 Release Date:
Sony has announced the release date for The Last of Us Part II through a brand new trailer that you can see on Youtube. The game is scheduled to release for PS4 on February 21, 2020. Before the presentation, Sony had stayed rather silent on the PS4 exclusive. The business first surprised the world with the reveal of The Last of Us Part II in late 2016, before releasing a new gore filled trailer for the game in 2017 and then showing off the name’s brutal looking game-play at another trailer during E3 2018.
The Last of Us Part II seems extraordinarily violent, and we love it. Though we’ve seen sweet moments in the game too, such as a grown Ellie kissing her crush and being fearful in the prospect of dancing with her and investigating their connection, the last of us part II is clearly leaning in worst aspects of what is survival may looks like in a post apocalyptic world.
We have seen Ellie slit the throat of a guy for being in her manner. Painfully pulling out an arrow lodged into her shoulder, and hammering an ax to skull of an enemy with a damn crunch. The Last of Us Part II seems a little more action oriented than its predecessor. Ellie comes with a load-out of weapons that’s comparable to what Joel carried on him at The Last of Us.
But Ellie finds herself in spaces that present more options in the way to dispatch a bunch of enemies. You can spit under a car to sneak past a guard, draw enemies into certain locations to ambush them-tumble over barriers to get behind pay more rapidly, and slip between narrow halls at the environment to escape bigger foes.
